tory in south Tibet region even
as it denied having any knowl
edge on the five missing youths
of the frontier state who were
allegedly abducted by the PLA.

On Sunday Union minister
of state for sports and Aruna-
chal MPKiren Rijiju had tweet
ed that the Indian Army is wait
ing fora response to its message
to Chinese PLA on the alleged
abduction of the five youths,
who, their family members
claim, have been abducted byy
Chinese PLA ffom near the bor
der in Upper Subansiridistrict.
"The Indian Army has al-
ready sent a hotline message to
the counterpart PLA establish-
ment at the border point in Aru
nachal Pradesh. Response is
awaited," Rijiju had tweeted a
dayafter the Arunachalgovern-
ment launched a ground probe
at Nacho circle in the district,
the home to the five youths, to
verify the messages on the so
cial mediaby their family mem-
bers about their abduction.
On Saturday the district po
lice authorities sent a team
from the district headquarters
at Daporijo to Nacho, situated
120 kmaway towards north. The
five youths, who were engaged
by the Army as porters, had
gone to the border area. Two of
their friends, who managed to
retuned home, told villagers
that the five have been abducted
from Sera-7area an Army pa
trolling area located on the bor-
der about 12 kmfurther north of
Nacho.
China often claims that
Arunachal is part of its south
Tibet region and registers offi-
cial objection every time the
Prime Minister or any other
Union minister visits the fron-
tier state, particularly on its
statehood day
In2009, thenexternal affairs

in the Rajya Sabha that China
did not endorse the Country
Partnership Strategy 2009-12 for
India in the board of the Asian
Development Bank on the
ground that the proposed India

ance funding for the Flood and

which China claims is its terri-

ellite maps had showed areas of
Arunachal in Mandarin lan
guage rather than Hindi or En-
glish, effectively making them
appear to be partof Chinese ter-
ritory Google later rectified the
goof-up
